In May of 2017, Shift signed a lease with Goodwill Industries of Southern New Jersey and Philadelphia for 22,000 sq ft of warehouse space at 1440 Erie Avenue. The site houses an employment program for returning citizens.

Remediation Work Begins on the Iconic Beury Building

After almost 4 decades of dormancy, Shift Capital is proud to announce that abatement work has begun at the Beury Building.  On February 19, 2018, environmental workers began work on the clean-up of the site, a first step towards the return of the North Philadelphia iconic building.

Shift Capital is excited to announce the next phase of the redevelopment of Broad, Erie & Germantown Ave. With the mixed-use development of the Beury Building (Phase I) scheduled to begin construction in 2018, the Shift Capital team is releasing its preliminary designs for the 3700 block of North Broad Street.

On September 29th, Shift Capital announced a partnership with the Governor’s Office of Pennsylvania, the Mayor’s Office of the City of Philadelphia, State Representative Angel Cruz and City Councilwoman Maria Quiñones-Sánchez, as part of the emergency response effort to send relief packages to help Puerto Rico and its residents recover from Hurricane Maria.

The Gateway Project to North Kensington: What’s Urban Build?

At Shift Capital, we are excited to announce a collaboration with Olin and PennPraxis – the Living Laboratory! Shift is contributing $5,000 and a 1/4 acre open lot as part of a fundraising campaign to support an innovative, interdisciplinary design-build studio course. Contingent on additional funding, the course will be offered to graduate students in the UPENN School of Design starting in the spring semester of 2018.
