Shift Capital Joins the Puerto Rico Emergency Relief Effort

Shift donates space for Puerto Rico donations
On September 29th, Shift Capital announced a partnership with the Governor’s Office of Pennsylvania, the Mayor’s Office of the City of Philadelphia, State Representative Angel Cruz and City Councilwoman Maria Quiñones-Sánchez, as part of the emergency response effort to send relief packages to help Puerto Rico and its residents recover from Hurricane Maria.

With the President’s recent decision to temporarily waive the Jones Act, which places shipping restrictions on goods transported between the United States and Puerto Rico, communities across the U.S. are able to contribute goods and supplies to the relief effort to go out in supply deliveries being deployed by FEMA.

Shift Capital is providing 100,000 square feet of warehouse space at 956 Erie Avenue to serve as a vital staging ground, to coordinate the shipping of relief supplies to the residents of Puerto Rico recovering from the storm.

The Harrowgate neighborhood of Kensington is approximately 50% Hispanic-American, with significant representation from Puerto Rico. Shift Capital is proud to support the relief effort in solidarity with those affected.
